NBCCD is committed to fostering an inclusive, dynamic and engaging community. To ensure your success and involvement, you need to review some key reference documents. They will tell you about important academic events (convocation, last day of classes, gallery exhibitions, etc.) and deadlines (course add/drop dates, tuition due dates, etc.), as well as giving information about instructors, staff, guidelines and policies.
NBCCDSA Health and Dental Insurance
By way of a Vote, the Student Association of NBCCD decided on a Student Health and Dental Plan to assist and protect all students. With a mandatory plan, the insurance risk is spread over a large number of students, thereby lowering the cost per student. This makes the fee in a range that is affordable to students.
Am I eligible for benefits?
To be eligible for coverage you must be:
- Enrolled as a full-time student at New Brunswick College of Craft & Design; and
- Under the age of 65; and
- Covered under a Provincial Health Care Plan or equivalent.
Full-time students are automatically enrolled in the NBCCDSA Health and Dental Benefit Plan when they register for classes. The Health and Dental fee is automatically applied to your account. If you have fulfilled the requirements for eligibility, you will have a twelve (12) month term of coverage commencing September 01. Students enrolling after September 01 will be eligible for the remainder of the student year.
Are my Spouse and/or Dependant Children eligible for benefits?
Yes, your Spouse and Dependant Children can be covered for benefits. In order to be eligible, your dependants must be covered under a Provincial Health Care Plan and you must pay the applicable fee before the deadline. Your spouse and dependant children become eligible when you become eligible.
Can I opt out of the Health and/or Dental Plan?
In order to opt-out of this plan, you must be enrolled in another health and/or dental plan this includes First Nation Students. Proof of coverage for health is required before you are able to opt-out however you may opt out of the dental plan without having dental coverage. You must complete this process by September 19.

**Please note that ‘guard.me - Emergency Medical Insurance’ is separate from this NBCCDSA Health and Dental Insurance, and must be paid by International Students only. International students are encouraged to have both plans.
