Kate Jackson is a queer artist who draws from her personal stories of grief and heartache to embroider on fragile materials. She is the Programs Manager at Craft Ontario as well as a Professor in the Craft & Design Program at Sheridan College. Kate has taught workshops to all ages at various summer camps, Harbourfront Centre, OCADU, and the Contemporary Textile Studio Co-op. Kate is a graduate of the Material art & Design Program at OCADU and has received numerous awards and recognition for her artwork including best in show at the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair. Kate is a celebrated Canadian artist who lives in South Western Ontario. We have invited her to join NBCCD as a Visiting Artist for two weeks in July.
