Articulation Agreements

Degree Pathways

Earn your degree

Articulation agreements offer students a path to earn a university degree. Most agreements provide a 2+2 pathway (two years of college + two years of university).

NBCCD’s mission is to empower learners to forge sustainable creative careers. Part of this forging may include further education upon completion of a certificate and/or diploma. Articulation agreements allow students to seamlessly continue learning journeys at peer institutions to truly design their life and education.

new brunswick

Institution: University of New Brunswick (Fredericton)

  • This articulated degree between NBCCD and the University of New Brunswick (UNB) offers a combination of academic study and hands-on training. It is a four-year Bachelor of Applied Arts degree completed through 2 years of study at UNB and 2 years at NBCCD, in any order you choose.
  • Students who enrol in the BAA program also graduate with a Foundation Visual Arts (FVA) certificate from NBCCD, as well as one year of studies in a craft and design diploma program. Students can choose to stay one additional year at NBCCD to complete the diploma by notifying the Registrar’s Office.
  • Students must apply directly through UNB, contact artsadvising@unb.ca with questions. If students plan to start the four-year degree at NBCCD, then upon receiving UNB’s acceptance letter, students should complete an application for Foundation Visual Arts (FVA). The application fee will be waived once you provide proof of UNB acceptance to nbccd.admissions@gnb.ca.
  • Note: BAA students must apply to NBCCD diploma programs in the same way as non-BAA students and undergo the regular admission process. This application is due by January 15 during your FVA year and requires the application fee. Space is not guaranteed and applicants must compete for a spot in their chosen diploma studio.
