“In this new role I am excited to be a resource for faculty to brainstorm and bounce ideas off of, and to create opportunities for the conception of new courses through the EdVentures program.”
Anna Mathis is the Instructional Designer and Opportunities Co-ordinator at the College. She assists in the creation of professional development opportunities for faculty, and facilitates curriculum development and renewal. She also fosters community engagement opportunities through EdVentures Continued Education and our Student Summer Residency programs.
Anna is a problem solver, an innovator, a designer, and loves excel spreadsheets. She has been an instructor with the college since 2015 and has taught workshops from her beautiful home studio in the country. Anna has both spoken and taught at fibre arts festivals across the Maritimes, as well as TWIST, Canada’s largest fibre arts festival.
Anna was the sole recipient of the Felt Canada Bursary in 2018, which allowed her to travel to the Biannual Canadian Felt Symposium. Anna has exhibited in two solo shows at the Grand Manan Gallery, and has participated in a variety of group exhibitions across the province.
A fun fact about Anna: Sometimes when people lose their words she can catch them out of thin air. She also finds a lot of four-leaf clovers – around one per week in the summer.
