2020 marks sixteen years since the unexpected death of Burns in 2004, an event that shocked the community and took one of our most prolific makers. Our exhibition honours the legacy of Rick Burns’ artistic career and the story of his life. Accompanied by a significant virtual catalogue containing a critical essay by Terry Graff, photographs of works, and written contributions in the form of stories from those who knew him, Rick Burns: Mark-Maker is perfectly situated in the gallery that Burns created for visual artists to display their most significant communications.
