NBCCD Convocation

Who’s excited for our first in-person NBCCD convocation in two years?! NBCCD’s 2022 spring convocation will be held at the Fredericton Playhouse on June 10. Graduating diploma and certificate students are invited to the ceremony and can bring two guests (pre-registration is required).

Timeline

10:00am – Arrive at college for gown pick-up (Note: students can pick up gowns until 12:30pm)

12:30pm — Return to college for processional line-up

1:30pm — Doors open at Fredericton Playhouse for your guests (2 max.) to take their seats

1:30pm — Grads begin processional walk to the Fredericton Playhouse

2:00pm — Convocation

4:00pm — Reception at NBCCD (additional guests welcome)

Preparation 

Please read all the details below to make sure you’re fully prepared for convocation and ready to make the day one to remember.

Date/Time

Convocation will take place on Friday, June 10, at 2pm, at the Fredericton Playhouse located at 686 Queen Street, Fredericton, NB.

 

Guests

We have limited the number of guests to maintain social distancing. Students will be permitted to invite two (2) guests to convocation. Students must submit the names of their invited guests by June 1 via this form.

 

COVID-19

All COVID-19 protocols will be enforced at convocation. All graduates, staff, and guests will be required to wear a mask at the ceremony. We ask that everyone self-monitor and stay home if they are experiencing any symptoms.

If students require accessibility accommodations, please have them email our Learning Strategist, Blake Stuart at blake.stuart@gnb.ca as soon as possible.

Name Preferences

Students are required to complete this form to let us know their name preferences for their certificate/diploma. We ask that this form be completed by May 23. Please encourage your students to complete the form as soon as possible.

Grad Gown

Please be advised that the deadline to order a graduation gown has passed. This means that if students have not ordered a gown, they are not on the list to attend in-person convocation. If you know of any students who were planning to attend convocation but did not order a gown, please have them email our Student Life Coordinator, Breanan, as soon as possible at breanan.foster@gnb.ca.

Grad Cap/Mortar Board

Students may pick-up their mortar board on June 2 and 3 in the Student Services Centre.

Rules for decorating your mortar board:
– Designs cannot be higher than 4” above the top of the board
– Designs cannot be more than 1” beyond the edge of the board
– Your face must be visible
– You must have the ability to move the tassel from left to right (keep button on top exposed)
– Individual studios are welcome to come up with a unified theme, but this is not necessary
