Across the Threshold:A Celebration of Connexion ARC’s 40th Anniversary
The New Brunswick College of Craft & Design’s George Fry Gallery, in collaboration with Connexion ARC, proudly presents Across the Threshold, a special exhibition celebrating Connexion Artist-Run Centre’s 40th anniversary. The exhibition will be on view from September 5 to October 2, 2024, at the George Fry Gallery.
Founded in 1984, Connexion ARC has reached a significant milestone—four decades of nurturing the Fredericton arts community. This anniversary not only celebrates the organization but also the passionate and committed community that has supported it throughout the years. Thanks to the dedication of its staff, volunteers, and supporters, Connexion has become one of the oldest artist-run centres in New Brunswick.
To honor this 40-year journey, Across the Threshold features a curated selection of works by Connexion’s members. The exhibition showcases a diverse range of mediums, including soft sculpture, film, photography, and interactive installations.
Across the Threshold delves into the intricate relationship between nature and our constructed environments. The exhibition explores the chthonic aspects of home, from the wooden walls and roofs that shelter us to the small creatures and natural elements that inhabit the spaces around us. Through the various mediums, a narrative unfolds, guiding us to reflect on our impact on the natural world and our role in its preservation.
