Perspectives: A Group Exhibition by the NBCCD Photography/Videography Studio
Dive into a world of creativity and visual storytelling at Perspectives, a dynamic group exhibition showcasing the works of NBCCD’s photography/videography students, as well as faculty. The exhibition opens on Thursday, February 6, at 4:30 pm at the George Fry Gallery, located at 408 Queen Street in downtown Fredericton.
Running until February 26, Perspectives offers a rare glimpse into the diverse artistic expressions found in photography today. From short films to digital manipulation, traditional darkroom prints, and alternative processes, students push the boundaries of visual storytelling with a variety of media, techniques, and personal narratives. This exhibition demonstrates both historical and contemporary methods, including the use of modern mirrorless cameras and vintage film formats like 4×5 and Polaroid.
“This exhibition is an exciting opportunity for our students to share their journey with the public, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the techniques, concepts, and creative risks they take,” said Karen Ruet, photography/videography instructor at NBCCD.
Whether you’re an aspiring photographer, a local art enthusiast, or simply curious about the process behind the lens, Perspectives takes visitors on a journey through the history of photography through the eyes of New Brunswick’s current and emerging photographers. The exhibition is free and open to everyone, with gallery hours Monday through Friday, 10 am – 4 pm.
