2026 Alumni Award Recipients

Selected across three categories, these award winners represent a range of creative practices and career paths. From emerging makers to established leaders, each recipient demonstrates the impact of an NBCCD education in shaping both individual careers and broader creative communities

Leadership in Craft and DesignAdrienne Goodine

Adrienne Goodine is a designer and maker whose career reflects a long-standing commitment to craft and entrepreneurship. A 2003 graduate of NBCCD, she later completed a Bachelor of Applied Arts at the University of New Brunswick.

She spent over a decade working with What On Earth Jewelry, developing her skills as both a designer and maker while learning from established metalsmiths, many of whom are NBCCD alumni. In 2017, she launched her own clothing brand, building a practice that balances design, production, and business growth.
Adrienne’s work has been featured in fashion shows across Atlantic Canada, including the 2019 Cashmere Bathroom Tissue Fashion Show. Today, she continues to design and produce her collections in a shared studio space, fostering collaboration within the local creative community.

Leadership in Craft and DesignAndrew McCullough

Andrew McCullough is a Fredericton-based potter and NBCCD alumnus whose work is grounded in material exploration, process, and community engagement. Following his appearance on The Great Canadian Pottery Throwdown, he opened The Nu Ceramics Studio in downtown Fredericton.

Through his studio, Andrew is committed to making ceramics more accessible by offering space, resources, and opportunities for learning. Alongside his studio practice, he is developing a line of locally sourced clay to support and strengthen the ceramics community across Atlantic Canada.

Wendy Scott

Community Impact AwardWendy Scott Werenka

Wendy Scott Werenka, known professionally as Wenffyria, is a full-time artist, streamer, and award-winning cosplayer. Originally from a coastal community in New Brunswick, she moved to Fredericton in 2018 to study Fashion Design at NBCCD, where she received the Fashion Show Award and served as a student representative.

Since graduating, Wendy has built a dynamic creative practice that blends costume design, performance, and digital engagement. She has been featured as a cosplay guest at conventions across the Maritimes, leading panels on garment construction and craftsmanship. Through her livestreams and online platforms, she shares her creative process and connects with a growing community of makers.

Emerging Alumni AwardMarianna Lewis

Marianna Lewis is a Jamaican metalsmith and contemporary jewellery artist whose work explores personal storytelling through natural forms and materials. She moved to Canada to pursue her studies at NBCCD, where she completed the Foundation Visual Arts Certificate, Jewellery and Metal Arts Diploma, and Advanced Studio Practice program, graduating with honours.

Her practice brings together precious metals and semi-precious stones to create work that reflects identity, memory, and connection to place. In 2025, her work was featured in Familial Fields, a multidisciplinary exhibition exploring ideas of home. That same year, she received the Brigette Clavette Award and Sheila Hugh Mackay Scholarship in Graduate Studies. In 2026, she was recognized with the Craft East Buyers’ Expo Best New Product Award.
