Touch: A Tactile Exhibition

An Interactive Exhibition Exploring Craft Through Touch

Touch: A Tactile Exhibition is a collaborative exhibition created in partnership with CraftNB and The Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB). This exhibition invites visitors to experience fine craft through touch, texture, and sensory engagement. It’s on display at New Brunswick College of Craft and Design’s George Fry Gallery from June 4 to July 29, 2026.

Co-curated by Bianca Mozer and Ysabelle Vautour, Touch is designed with visually-impaired and neurodiverse audiences in mind and welcomes all visitors into an accessible and interactive gallery experience.

A Different Way to Experience Craft

Touch moves beyond the traditional gallery setting and encourages visitors to engage directly with the work through tactile interaction. Rather than viewing objects from a distance, audiences are invited to slow down, explore materials with their hands, and connect with craft through sensory experience.

Featuring a range of tactile works and interactive elements from select members of CraftNB—many of whom are NBCCD alumni—the exhibition challenges conventional ideas of how art and craft are experienced within gallery spaces.

Accessibility, Connection, and Exploration

The exhibition celebrates the many ways people experience and connect with creative work while reflecting on the role accessibility plays in shaping cultural and artistic spaces. All are welcome and encouraged to stop in. Admission is free and the gallery is open weekdays from 10am to 4pm.

ATTEND the FREE public opening RECEPTIONAL from 4:30 pm – 6 pm on Thursday, June 9 AT THE GEORGE FRY GALLERY, 408 QUEEN STREET, FREDERICTON, NB.
