Touch: A Tactile Exhibition

An Interactive Exhibition Exploring Craft Through Touch

Touch: A Tactile Exhibition, is a collaborative exhibition created in partnership with CraftNB and The Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB). On display at the George Fry Gallery from June 4 to July 29, this exhibition invites visitors to experience craft through touch, texture, and sensory engagement.

Co-curated by Bianca Mozer and Ysabelle Vautour, Touch is designed with visually impaired and neurodiverse audiences in mind while welcoming all visitors into a more accessible and interactive gallery experience.

A Different Way to Experience Craft

Touch moves beyond the traditional gallery setting by encouraging visitors to engage directly with the work through tactile interaction. Rather than viewing objects from a distance, audiences are invited to slow down, explore materials with their hands, and connect with craft through sensory experience.

Featuring a range of tactile works and interactive elements, the exhibition challenges conventional ideas of how art and craft are experienced within gallery spaces.

Accessibility, Connection, and Exploration

Developed in partnership with CNIB and CraftNB, the exhibition creates space for accessibility, curiosity, and inclusion within contemporary craft presentation. Through texture, form, and material exploration, Touch celebrates the many ways people experience and connect with creative work.

The exhibition encourages visitors to engage thoughtfully with their surroundings while reflecting on the role accessibility plays in shaping cultural spaces and artistic experiences.

ATTEND the FREE, public opening from 4:30 pm – 6 pm on Thursday, Junel 9.
