Jamie Bergin

Instructor: Digital Media

Jamie Bergin
Masters in Health Promotion– Montana State University
Graphic Design – Centre for Arts and Technology

“I am able to explain difficult things to people in a way they can understand. Digital 3D design can be a bit overwhelming when you are not used to computers. I make sure everyone knows the basics. My favourite part is the lightbulb moments, when see a student get to a new level of understanding.”

Jamie Bergin is an Instructor in the Digital Media program, as well as teaching 3D printing in the Jewellery/Metal Arts and Ceramics programs. Her quest to increase the accessibility and usefulness of 3D printing for students outside the Digital Media program has led her to push the capabilities of this technology on an ongoing basis.

Jamie has experience teaching as a Teaching Assistant at Montana State University, Wayne State College, as well as at the Centre for Arts & Technology. Though her educational background is in kinesiology, Jamie learned graphic design skills on-the-job as an intern for Fairland Studios. After moving to Canada she got her certificate in Graphic Design from the Centre for Arts and Technology. She later worked in graphic design and 3D design for Bluedrop, a company which specializes in designing courseware and training simulations.

Jamie has been involved in various New Brunswick film projects, including Birthday Cake, which was shown at to the Silverwave Film Festival. She was also 2nd Assistant Director for Heavenly Gifts, which also had her working on continuity, cast, and visual effects. She is also skilled in photography and Photoshop, and enjoys taking on 3D printing and casting projects.

Jamie’s Superpower: She is an inspiring long distance runner. In 2017, she ran 42k in the Marine Corps Marathon (Oct) and 21k in the Las Vegas Half Marathon (Nov).
