Students can apply throughout the day and have their portfolios reviewed in the basement computer lab of the main building.
Studio Workshops
| Drawing (A, B) | In this step-by-step workshop, students will learn fundamental techniques to create their own drawing they get to take home. |
| Fashion: Design Your Line (A, B) | Create a group fashion line in 25 minutes using the 3-word approach! Will it be worthy of the catwalk or recycling bin? |
| Indigo Dyeing (A) | Step into the mesmerizing world of Shibori, a traditional Japanese dyeing technique that creates stunning patterns through folding, twisting, and binding fabric. Leave with a beautifully dyed indigo bandana handcrafted by you. |
| Screen Printing (B) | Get your hands messy and play with colour as you screen print your own custom bandana to take home. |
| Pin Hole Cameras & Photograms (A, B) | Choose your own adventure! Learn to make and operate a simple pinhole camera, using a tin can and photographic paper and explore photograms in our signature darkroom. Photograms are images formed like x-rays by exposing light to photo paper creating perfect outlines objects placed on the paper. |
| Metal Stamping (A, B) | Using common studio hammers and stamps, participants will create a beautiful copper pendant to take home. |
| Pottery Throwdown (A, B) | Test your skills (or lack of!) in our NBCCD Pottery Throwdown—a fast-paced ceramics challenge. |
