Wabanaki Visual Arts Program Review Specialist
Location: Fredericton, NB (with travel within NB). On-site office space provided, with flexibility for remote options.
Contract Duration: 6 months for phase one, with the possibility of extension
This role is pivotal in gathering essential community and alumni feedback to inform the revitalization of the Wabanaki Visual Arts program. The successful candidate will respectfully engage with Indigenous artists, Elders, and community members to collect insights on the strengths and challenges of the program, with a specific focus on evaluating the potential return to a previous curriculum model. Key responsibilities include data collection through interviews and research into historical program best practices, synthesizing feedback from current and past students, and the community to assess the feasibility and desirability of this proposed program structure. The role culminates in a report outlining findings and actionable insights to guide the program’s revitalization toward a validated model.
We seek an individual of Indigenous descent, with an understanding and knowledge of Wabanaki communities, partners, and traditional practices. We feel that this lived experience will be beneficial for conducting effective community engagement for the revitalization of the Wabanaki Visual Arts program.
