NBCCD’s Student Association has launched a new program this year designed to help students at the College access hearty food and build community at the same time.
Beginning in October, the Student Association will provide a hot lunch on the last Friday of each month, free for every student at the College. The program is the Student Association’s way of making sure students have access to filling meals, allowing them to focus on their studies and creative practice by easing some of their financial and nutritional burden.
“This service isn’t just about the food, but about showing students that their Student Association and College care about their wellbeing,” said MacKenzie Russell, Student Association President. “A shared hot meal does more than just feed; it makes food an exercise in community-building.”
The hot lunch program is funded by the NBCCD Student Association, of which all NBCCD students are funding members.
