The opening of this new gallery and the debut show Frostbite is on March 1st from 4:30-6:30pm. The entrance is beside Endeavours Art. First year students in the Diploma in Photography will be presenting their perspective on the visual wonderland that is winter in Canada. At a moment when many are feeling the doldrums, they remind us that we are lucky to live in a place with such frosty treasures.

You will enjoy the fun aesthetic of this charming brick corridor transformed into an art gallery – complete with natural light. Historical images of Fredericton, which have been present in this building for decades, are being replaced by a rotating gallery of student work. The student artists will be available to discuss their process and the prints will be available for purchase directly from the artists. The show will be up until March 21st, followed by a collection by 2nd year Photography students.

This debut show for The Red Brick Gallery is the first of many. The current schedule of The George Fry Gallery, the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design’s in-house space, creates the opportunity for each studio to exhibit once every two years. This new gallery space opens up additional exhibition opportunities for students of NBCCD who produce two-dimensional art. The Red Brick Gallery joins The Craft & Design Shop at NBCCD’s newest building. More programs are in the works to support budding craft & design entrepreneurs with this new space.
