PHOTOGRAPH – FOTOGRAFIA – LITRATO - תמונה - NAPUIʼGIGN, the next exhibition to open at Fredericton’s downtown George Fry Gallery, is designed, built, and captured by photography/videography students from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (NBCCD). The exhibition title represents the six languages spoken by this talented group of young photographers: English, Portuguese, Spanish, Filipino, Hebrew, Mi’gmaq.
PHOTOGRAPH opens February 2 with a public reception (open to all) from 4:30 to 8pm, and runs until February 25, 2023. As always, free of charge
This 2023 photography exhibit showcases 15 NBCCD students’ and four photography/videography staff members’ diverse range of perspectives, stories, styles, and creative expressions. It features a wide range of work including digital photographs, analogue and historic processes, digital visual design, and small curated mini-installations. There will be cameras, prints, videos, statements, and more.
“The works in the show are the visual expressions chosen by the students to demonstrate their aesthetics, what they have learned, and the experiences they have had while studying with us,” said Drew Gilbert, NBCCD’s Photography/Videography Studio Head.
We cannot live without photographs and videos They are how we communicate, remember, and express ourselves. Without them our stories would be colourless words and disconnected from our imagination,” said Gilbert.
The George Fry Gallery is open Monday to Friday from 10 am to 4 pm and located at 408 Queen St., Fredericton, NB. Masks required.
