Convocation Schedule

10:00am – Arrive at college for gown pick-up (Note: students can pick up gowns until 12:30pm)

12:30pm — Processional line-up in college courtyard

1:30pm — Doors open at Fredericton Playhouse to guests

1:30pm — Grads begin processional walk down Queen St. to the Fredericton Playhouse 

2:00pm — Convocation 

3:30pm — Reception at NBCCD (additional guests welcome) and gown return/diploma pick-up at college

Valedictorian

Apply for Class Valedictorian in February!

The Class Valedictorian will deliver the valedictory address to their fellow graduates at the June convocation ceremony. We encourage any interested students to apply for this important opportunity.

To be considered, students must meet the following requirements:

– be a graduating 2nd year diploma student

– have a 3.0 GPA or higher

– be on track to graduate in June

– submit a video reading a sample speech

The application form will be available here in February. The deadline to apply is Monday, May 5.

Accessibility

There will be ASL interpreters present for hearing-impaired guests.

Students with accessibility concerns are asked to email our Learning Strategist, Dan Leonard.

Tickets

Each graduate will be receiving three individual tickets for their guests, which can be picked up at the Student Services centre in April. Students will receive an email notice as to the exact date tickets are available.

FVA Online students: If you wish to pick up your tickets the day of graduation, please email studentlife@nbccd.ca by May 4.

Tickets not picked up or confirmed by Friday, May 4 will be given away to students requiring more tickets.

Convocation Gown Ordering & Graduate Information Submission

It’s time to order your convocation gown! Please complete the Grad Gown & Information Form by Monday, March 3 to ensure your gown is properly sized and your graduation details are recorded accurately.

In this form, you will:

Select your gown size (View sizing chart).

Confirm the name you’d like on your diploma/certificate.

Provide the name you’d like announced during convocation.

Submit your hometown as you want it printed in the convocation program.

Fill out form

All graduating students must complete this form, regardless of attendance at the ceremony.

Photography

Professional photos of each graduate crossing the stage will be provided in an emailed online gallery to students free of charge. Students will be responsible for printing their own photos.

Convocation Livestream

Convocation will be livestreamed via our official YouTube channel. The livestream will be publicly visible so additional friends and family can tune in virtually. YouTube’s livestream chat can display congratulatory comments from virtual guests for you to enjoy upon later viewing. The convocation recording will be made permanently available on our YouTube channel in the weeks following Convocation.
