Meet the designer

Oakley Rain Wysote Gray is a fashion designer from Listuguj Mi’gmaq First Nation. They identify as two-spirited and they use the pronouns Ni’n aq Neg’m (They/Them).

Their work draws inspiration from Mi’gmaq culture and the unjust treatment of Indigenous people. Not only does their debut collection, Mei Eimotieg (we are still here), highlight the stories of their Mi’gmaq ancestors, it also displays the impact of systematic racism and colonization.
